Writing on the Creative process

Healing and Creativity
Through my years as an artist I have had many people say to me “Oh, I could never be that creative.” I have also learned in my art classes for children that many are very frustrated with trying to create and even at a very young age have learned beliefs that block the process of accepting creativity.
I have been fortunate to come from a family of artists, creators and inventors and have learned patterns of behavior and beliefs that encourage the process of creativity. In my desire to share these abilities with others I have analyzed my own creative processes and the processes of other artists. In analyzing these creative processes I have realized that channels that allow the spirit to enter our beings must be open in order to allow creativity to flow through us. These processes are not defined by what can be grasped or kept but are merely an allowance of Energy or spirit to flow through the body. Once opened however, these channels not only allow for the flow of creativity. Creativity is only a by-product of what is actually flowing through us which is spirit or truth. This spirit or truth can lead to great healing.
This flow through allows the body to absorb concepts or Ideas from their spiritual form and then to either expel them from the body or transform them into a new material form which may take shape as a painting ,sculpture
delicious meal etc. These works of creativity instill emotions in others and then once again the sprit is re-assimilated. This is the eternal process of exchange between the spirit and the material. This is not unlike many of the other of nature’s processes that take place all around us i.e; the water cycle, photosynthesis etc.
The process of creating and of healing both are processes of integrating the spirit and the material. The spirit is drawn into the body through acceptance or faith and transforms it into a form that our physical beings can assimilate.
Healing and Art both require Faith in a power that is limitless. Knowledge that we are merely messengers and translators of this truth will allow flow.
A belief that our being is simply material is the blockage that keeps us from being receptive to the constant signals or signs that are everywhere around us. These signs are all attempts of the spirit to access our being. It is lack of faith in this process itself that allows Illness to manifest in our bodies. Electricity will not flow through a material that is not conductive therefore we ourselves must not try to force but rather must allow healing and creativity to flow through us.
One might say that a condition is purely physical and that nothing spiritual can be done to cure an illness. This may be true in the sense that this ailment has been allowed to develop for an extended period of time due to the pattern of belief that has existed in a persons being. Once the belief has been eliminated only then can the healing begin and it might take some time for these new beliefs to have an effect upon the physical ailment.
In order to promote healing in others. Help them to recognize this principle.
Allow flow through of messages
Exercises that encourage the flow of creativity:
Brainstorming: The Dictionary defines this as the process of generating creative thoughts or ideas.
The process of brainstorming is an immediate acceptance of all ideas that come to mind without criticism or rejection.
The importance of this process in creativity is that criticism and rejection are major blockages in the flow of creativity through our beings. There will be plenty of time later for criticism once we have many ideas before us. It is much like carving a block of wood or drawing a sketch. It easy to whittle down something that is vast and impossible to build on something that has already been discarded. We can understand however that no idea can truly be discarded or stolen because the source of these ideas is limitless.
Breaking through limiting beliefs. Re-learning to see:
The process of observance is very important in the creative process. This may sound simple and you may think that you observe things every day. There is a great difference however between seeing things and observing them. Observing is not just merely seeing, it is a conscious registering of the object that we are seeing. At a young age we are constantly staring at and registering all that we see around us. Over time we have so many things to process that our observations of objects around us becomes limited.
Test for consciously registering what we see.
Think carefully about items that we observe daily.
What color is the doorknob to your house?
Which way does Lincoln’s head face on a penny?
When was the last time you observed a rainbow?
When was the last time you watched the sun set?
